Accessibility statement
Last updated 27 August 2026. We want anyone to be able to read these pages and book work, whatever they use to browse.
The standard we aim at
This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We treat that as the working target for the pages people use to understand a service and request one.
What we have done
- Keyboard
- Every control — including the menu and both steps of the request form — can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone. The page reserves space beneath the sticky header so a focused link never ends up hidden behind it.
- Structure
- Each page has one H1, headings in order, landmark regions, and a skip link to the main content.
- Contrast
- Every text colour is checked against every background it appears on, not just the main one. The copper used for labels was darkened after it measured 3.76:1 on the stone panels — it now passes 4.5:1 on all three page backgrounds.
- Forms
- Every field has a visible label, required fields are marked for screen readers as well as visually, and an error clears as soon as you correct it. Errors appear next to the field and in a summary at the top that links to each one.
- Motion
- The site respects the reduced-motion setting in your operating system.
- Targets
- Buttons and links are sized so they can be tapped comfortably on a phone.
- Images
- Diagrams carry text descriptions. Nothing important on this site is conveyed by an image alone.
What we know is not perfect
This statement is based on our own testing, not an independent audit, so it is an honest account rather than a certification. We have not yet had the site tested by people who use screen readers and other assistive technology day to day, and that is the next thing we intend to do.
Some things we know are imperfect: the request form is the only part of the site that needs JavaScript, and if you have it turned off you will need to contact us another way. Our diagrams carry text descriptions, but a description is not the same as being able to explore the drawing.

If you cannot use the request form for any reason, contact us another way and we will take the details directly. Nobody has to use a web form to get chimney work done.
